OCD is far more than “liking things orderly.” It’s an exhausting loop of intrusive, distressing thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental rituals (compulsions) performed to temporarily neutralize the anxiety. Common themes include fears of harm, contamination, morality/scrupulosity, sexual or religious taboos, or a persistent sense that something is “not just right.” For many people, OCD is deeply rooted in unresolved trauma; the mind uses obsessions and compulsions as a way to regain a sense of control and safety when the nervous system still believes danger is present.
A core feature of OCD is the fierce resistance to these thoughts and feelings. The more you push them away or treat them as dangerous and meaningful, the louder and more powerful they become. My work focuses on gently dismantling that resistance—teaching you to relate differently to uncertainty, discomfort, and intrusive thoughts so they lose their grip.
In our work together, we will systematically face the fears while building your capacity to tolerate and regulate anxiety without resorting to compulsions. We move at a pace that feels challenging yet safe, always with compassion and precision. The goal is clear: help you reclaim your mind from the OCD cycle, respond to uncertainty with calm confidence, and live according to your values instead of your fears.
